Fifteen days ago Alexander Courage died.  He's the guy that composed the theme song for the original series (TOS) of Star Trek.  But it wasn't until a week later that it was widely reported in the news.  The radio station I listen to at work Indie 103.1 mentioned this on their morning show, hosted by Joe Escalante of the Vandals, during the news segment.  Instead of playing the original theme they played this, a video I found months ago wherein a Star Trek fan came up with lyrics for the Star Trek: Voyager theme and sang them accordingly.  He's actually quite good.  For people who've never seen Voyager when he's referring to "The Delta" he's referring to one of four quadrants of the Milky Way in the Star Trek universe, the area in which the U.S.S. Voyager was stranded.  He is not referring to any geographical region in the American South.  That would make for a show that's only slightly sillier.

TOS's themesong had lyrics written by Gene Roddenberry.  There was never any intention of using them in the show, but he wrote them so that he'd cut into the song-writing royalties of Alexander Courage figuring he wouldn't make much money off of the show.  There are people who've sung covers of the song before, most notably Jack Black who includes it in his concerts.  I used to have an mp3 of the Jack Black version somewhere.  If someone uploads a video of it somewhere maybe I'll post it.  In the meantime you can check out the lyrics here.
